Thinking about booking a boudoir session but curious as to what it entails? Think of it as someting like this: a day with your girlfriends getting pampered, getting hair and makeup done, sipping on bubbly and taking glamour shots. I swear it’s just as fun as it sounds!
The day starts out with a little champagne while you get your hair and makeup done. I don’t care if it’s 9 am, it’s 5 oclock somewhere! Ok, obviously I won’t force you to drink but the option is there. Oh and usually the pampering starts a little later than 9am so it’s slightly more socially acceptable to be drinking. After your hair and makeup is flawless (this usually takes about an hour or so), the photography session starts. I do most of my sessions at the Fairholme Manor because it’s very private and their rooms are huge and absolutely gorgeous with lots of natural lighting.
A basic session lasts about 45 minutes. This leaves time for few outfit changes and gives you enough time to relax in front of the camera to get those natural poses. Now I realize most people have never modelled before, nor have most had professional photos taken. That’s what I’m for! I guide you through the process, demonstrating each pose if needed so that you can look your best and feel confident in front of the camera. The hair makeup artist is usually on hand to touch up lipstick or fix your hair if needed and also to help out with any outfit changes if need be.
I think a lot of women shy away from boudoir photography because they never feel like it’s the right time. Maybe they have 10 more pounds to lose, their hair isn’t quite long enough, there is no man in their life, etc. Screw all this! There is no time like the present! I love shooting all body types and there are poses that are flattering for everyone. Work it, own it and ROCK IT!
Every woman I have photographed has walked away from the boudoir shoot amazed at the experience. I’ve had women tell me that it’s completely changed their life and improved their self confidence. It’ s extremely empowering and I swear to god it’s so much fun!!!
